Let's make an anchor as a summer decoration :)

I love the anchor motif!!! I think we all need this motif more of less as our summer decoration!!!
I spent quite some time to create the anchor crochet pattern. Today, I can finally share the pattern with you and I’m quite happy with that 🙂

You can use whatever yarns and hooks you want to use. Well, let’s get started 😀

This time, the instruction will look slightly complicated (but not so difficult to follow), so I made a diagram to explain the pattern. I also wrote how to proceed the pattern in the picture just next to the diagram. For those who don’t like reading symbols, I will also explain in words. My tutorial “step” numbers are synchronized with the numbers written in the picture below.

If you like, you can make some chs with another yarn, and wrap the anchor nicely!!! I made 30 chs 🙂

Enjoy decorating things around you!! 😀
I decorated a summer hat with this anchor. Please have a look on my hat here.

I hope you’ve enjoyed my tutorial 🙂 Happy crocheting ♡

*** Notes ***

I have invested a lot of time in creating the pattern, taking photos, writing the instructions as clear as possible, therefore it will be really kind of you to respect my rights.

If you have a blog, I’ll be definitely happy when you write about this pattern (and your achievements).
At that time, I can never be happier if it would have a link to my blog! Thank you ♡

I have opened a jewelry shop on Etsy. I try to make jewelry that I also can use in any occasions. Please have a look there by clicking the photo below.

I love this! Thank you so much! I am still new to crocheting so I don’t quite know how to adjust patterns, is there any possible way you could email me the pattern for a bigger applique? Something big enough to fit on a baby blanket? Thank you 🙂

Thank you so much for your comment!! I’m happy that you like it 🙂 Are you thinking to garnish your baby blanket with a bigger anchor motif? That will be cute!! Let me think about it and I’ll get back to you 🙂

I followed your pattern to the letter and mine is coming out like a bad sailor’s tattoo version of an anchor lol. Guess I’ll just have to keep trying.

    • natsu says:

      Hi Morgan,
Thank you for trying my pattern! I’m glad that you’ve finished but sorry if it wasn’t coming out so nice. But “sailor’s tattoo version of an anchor” sounds nice! I’d love to have a look!! I wish I could see your work and give you some comments … which part was the difficult? Hope you will get satisfied when you make another one!!

    • natsu says:

Hi Kim, Thanks for the comment. I’m sorry to hear that … but I hope you will get a nice anchor motif some day! 😀

Your directions are excellent. The photos also are amazing ~ clear, marked perfectly according to the written pattern, and in just the right place to view. LOVE the zoom capability also. Thank you very much for the obviously huge effort you made to develop this page. Much like Kim, my first attempt also turned out somewhat “drunken” but I will keep trying. The first afghan I ever made ended up with five sides LMAO If I can figure out how, I will share a photo of my bucktoothed anchor for you to laugh with me. Again, thanks so much ~ G’Day

Hi Gracia, thank you for stopping by at my blog and leaving a comment!! I’m so flattered 😀 Yes, I’ll be looking forward to seeing your finished items! That would be great ♡ Natsu

    Hi Natsu.
Thanks for this amazing pattern and the wonderful step by step tutorial. I all seems so logic and clear until it comes to step 7. 😪 I tried to understand and crochet it about a thousand times or so, but I really don’t get it. Why is the loop on the other side at once and how can you manage to crochet around it?! I’d so like to crochet such beauty of an anchor and will keep on trying.

      Hi Patricia,
Thank you for your comments! Sorry for making you confused… After joining with slip stitch at step 6 (you are at the left side of the circle here), if you make chain 2 in the step 7, maybe you could cross to the right side of the circle and you will be able to make half double crochet around the 7 chains. I hope you can finish making it!!! If this still wasn’t help me, please let me know again! -Natsulog
