Workshop – wall decor :)

I hosted a workshop today and its theme was to make their own wall decor. I’m actually really really happy with what other attendees have made today!! I think I would prefer their works to my original ones. You will see what I mean… lol

Here, these are my original work of wall hanging letters.

Then after my brief explanation, they picked up their favorite colors of yarns and started making lots and lots of knots with the yarn. There were just three of us (plus a little gentleman) today, so I could help them a little more than usual.

Well, we worked quite a lot of hours, but this little man had really been a good boy for the whole time. He even tried to help her mom with crocheting 😀 GREAT JOB!!!

TADAAAAA!! One of my friends has made it today with her little angel’s name on it. It’s really cute!! I thought it would be nice to sew them on a bag or put them on the door.

She told me that her son just got a tent recently, and she could put them on his tent!! Well. sounds nice!

Then after she went back home, she sent me this picture. How adorable!!!!! The color combination is super ♡

Here, this is an impressive work done by the other friend. She really put a lot of effort in it and I think it worth it!! I would like to hung this on my bathroom door instead of my “bath” signs… :p It’s really cute and those colorful colors brightens up the room!!

Over all, it was really a good day with a lot of happy talking, good lunch, good works done with happy people!! Thank you for coming today ♡

What I love to wear in the kitchen ♡

Do you wear an apron when you cook? I almost always wear my apron in the kitchen!! Why do I wear it? A part of the reason might be because I always make a mess when I cook, but the main reason is because I feel very motivated to cook when I wear it.

My sister asked me to make one for her some time ago, but I hadn’t done it until very recently when I had made up my mind. Yes. Let’s make an apron for my lovely sister!!!

I am a very beginner with the sewing machine so that I can’t do anything fancy or complicated… So, I’ve decided to imitate one of the simple aprons from my apron collection.

The image of the apron I’d like to make has been decided, using pink dots fabric as an accent.

Okay. Let’s start! First, to cut the flower print fabric. As you can see, I used my apron as a pattern.

I was so lazy that I just folded the fabric in the center and cut them together. Now, I have the symmetric fabric 😀

Here, the sewing part begins. I started with the tiny parts, to make pink dots’ strings.

The most complicated part in this apron was probably the neck part…?

Then, after working on it little by little, my apron is done!!

I hope my sister will like this apron, and this will make her cooking time enjoyable!! 😀

Wow… sewing is a lot of fun and I can see a lot of potential!! I have a lot of things to learn on it but I’m looking forward to exploring a lot more with my sewing machine ♡

Christmas decoration !!!

I love Christmas as many others do 🙂 It’s full of happiness and love!!

This year, I’ve decided to make my own Christmas wreath to decorate my house. Oh, I just had to spend a lot of hours to think of the design, color combination and many others. But here I now have this!!! Ta-da!!!

Then, I thought of hanging it to my wall, but I wanted to put more Christmas items. So, I’ve decided to make a Christmas banner.

And now, finally, I have my Christmas decoration inside my house!! It’s just a small corner of the room, but this is my favorite place in my house now 😀 ♡♡♡

Again, I was a little while away from blogging… I was thinking of something new lately…

I’ve recently seen so many girls wearing printed pants. Most of them wear black based one. I’m sure this set of earrings will just go well with those style!!

 

Overall, I think those designs are really unique, so you won’t find so many people wearing the same style of earrings. Those color combinations of the strings and beads will definitely add you an extra expression on your face and style!!! The style itself is simple, so I’m sure these earrings will match with any kind of fashions and in many occasions ♡

Special accessories for yourself ♡

Lately, I’ve been in love with making accessories. I’ve found out how exciting to play with colorful beads and wires is!!
This was one of the main reasons why I was a little bit away from blogging though… 😦 Ouch!!

This is what I designed for myself… It was my first time to wear something that has my name on!! I am really happy to wear them 🙂

 

I also had my hair cut shorter recently ♡ How do you think?? 😀

 

My partner liked it and he wanted to have one for himself, so I’ve made one for him. He doesn’t wear earrings, so I’ve decided to make a charm. He uses it with keys!!

 

I’ve got some inquires if I sell them somewhere, so I’ve decided to sell them on my Etsy shop. Both earrings and a charm are available there ♡

 

If you like the earrings, the size is shown in the picture below- hoops measure 1.2 inches (3cm) in diameter, and the total hight 1.8 inches (4.5cm).

 

Both earrings and the charms are available in 5 colors 🙂 You can also chose words or names up to 4 letters!!

 

If you like the charm, you can also put it on your bags, pen cases or something you like 😀

 

Of course, you can use it as a pendant top!!

Crochet Cafe♡ Hair Bow – part 2- :)

On Friday, I held a crochet workshop for a different group of ladies 🙂

Our theme was the same with the last crochet cafe, “hair bows”. This time, it’s all started with one facebook message which I’ve got from a lady. She wrote to me that she wanted to make a hair bow for her 1-year-old daughter! How nice ♡ I liked the idea ♡

Everyone chose their favorite color of yarns, and we started working on it.

 

After working for a while, we took a break. It’s been very hot these days, but we had a hot tea 🙂 Hot drinks work well both physically and mentally. We chose “SOHO” by Harney and Sons this time. I really like the flavor ♡ The sweet flavor always makes me relax 🙂

 

I had prepared healthy treats the day before the workshop. Can you notice the bow shape on the cakes??

 

We enjoyed the relaxing break time ♡

 

After the tea break, we knew more about each other. I could see that everyone looked so relaxed and enjoyed working on crochet as well as chatting ♡

 

Three out of five ladies were moms. So, there were cute little ones!! How cute!! They looked enjoying exploring around the room! 😀

One lady made two bows while some others were still working on their first one !! Super fast!! One is a hair band, and the other one is a barrette 🙂 I like them both ♡

We came up with the idea of making a bow tie for baby boys, so I hope he will get his bow sometime soon 🙂 ♪♪

 

I’m now super happy that my friend had sent me a message on facebook!! Without that, I was probably doing something different that day and I might have never met her…!! We had so much fun together and I hope to know more about each other 🙂 ♡

 

I’ve learnt that when you think of something, it’s really important to take an action no matter how small it is. The small action makes the big difference in the end. Do you know that you will actually get bigger feeling of regret when you didn’t do “the thing” compared to the feeling you get after you did it. It’s easy not to take any actions and just to see how it goes, but if you are thinking about something, I think you should do it.

With the one step, you will be one step closer to your dream 🙂 ♡ Grab your chance and be happy ♡♡♡

Congratulations to Germany!!

I’ve got surprised when I checked the World Cup game result… 7 against 1 at the semi-final?! That’s incredible!!

Congratulations to those who are with German team 🙂

I was invited to my friend’s birthday party, so I made a birthday cake today 😀 Can you guess where they are from… ? 😀

 

It’s a German national flag cake ♡ I didn’t think that I would make a national flag cake within a week after I made the first one last Friday!! I think I really enjoy making it, so I’d like to make more countries’ national flag cakes!!

Choosing fruits is also fun 🙂 This time, I used blackberries for the black part, raspberries for the red part and peaches as well as mangos for the yellow part!! They were really refreshing and they matched well with the cheese cake!! 😀

I wanted to make birthday message cookies, so I looked for a chocolate pen at a supermarket, but they didn’t have what I was looking for… so, I decided to make a pen by myself. This is how I did.

 

[1] Prepare some chocolates you like. Cut them small so that they will melt easily.

 

[2] Pour warm water in a bowl and put another bowl onto the water bowl. Put chocolates in the upper bowl. Stir with a spatula until the chocolates fully melt. Make sure you won’t put any water in the chocolate bowl.

 

[3] Roll a parchment paper, making a tiny hole in the end and seal the side with a tape. Pour melted chocolate inside the pen, and use it as a pen! 🙂

 

[4] The message cookies are done 😀 I draw some soccer balls as well 🙂 ♡

 

[5] Place those cookies on the cake as you like 🙂

 

I didn’t want to to put a plastic wrap directly on the cake so that the chocolates would probably stick to the wrap while I drove to my friend’s house. So a little trick here. Use a toothpick 🙂 Just put some toothpicks on the cake and then, wrap the cake with the plastic wrap 🙂

 

This will keep the cake nice!! Please try it 🙂

 

There were many German people at my friend’s party, so I was so glad that I made the German flag cake. Oh, those people were really happy people and so nice !! I’m happy to be there 😀

Again, happy birthday my friend from Germany and congratulations for the soccer game today!!! Fingers crossed for the final game!!

A birthday cake for America

I was invited to my friend’s house for BBQ on Fourth of July and I wanted to prepare something very nice to celebrate the day!! And I made this… TA-DA!!!

A birthday cake for the United States!!! By the way, how old is this country?? It won independence from Grate Britain in 1776, so America is 238 years old now.

 

It’s an unbaked cheesecake because it won’t be too heavy after the BBQ and also refreshing with lots of fruits on top! The unbaked cheesecake is normally made from cream cheese, heavy cream, sugar, and gelatin. This time, I added some lemon juice and also sour cream, so that it would be a little bit tart. The cake got harder after keeping it in the fridge overnight with the power of the gelatin.

 

In the morning of the Independence Day, I did all the decoration on the cake. Do you know how many stars and stripes the American flag has on it? The answer is… please count the number of the blueberries I put on the cake and the number of red and white lines I made on the cake!!! 😀 I faithfully imitated the flag 🙂

The fruits are set now. But the decoration is not quite done yet. Since I just put the fruits on the cake, they might move when I carry to my friend’s house. So, I poured a sauce made from white wine, sugar, lemon juice and gelatin powder on top.

 

As you probably guessed it, I had to keep it in the fridge for an extra few hours for the sauce to be harder until it’s actually turned out to be a jelly. This is finally done!!! Now the fruits won’t move while I’m carrying it, and also the cake has additional refreshing tastes 🙂 I like this cake♪♪

 

My friends prepared nice BBQ for us and we had nice time there ♡ Then, we enjoyed this cake after eating lots of meat 🙂

At night, I walked to the park in my neighborhood to watch the fireworks!! It was really nice although I couldn’t take nice pictures… I found that the fireworks we could watch in Japan is probably much bigger than what we watched here. If you have a chance to visit Japan, please watch the beautiful fireworks!!! Anyway, watching the beautiful fireworks without thinking anything was really nice thing to do.

Thanks to my friends, I am happy with my first Fourth of July experience 🙂

Happy birthday, America ♡

Add colors in your fashion ♡

I like summer because everyone wears more colors than in winter!! I love colorful fashions, but I also like a simple style, wearing beige, black, navy, gray and white. But still, I try to adopt at least just one bright color as an accent to my fashion 🙂

These flower colors are my favorite kinds 🙂 Just by seeing them, I feel like getting energy. Bright colors cheer me up!!

 

A while ago when I went shopping with my friend, I’ve bought a pretty makeup bag. It was “a love at a first sight” kind of thing… 🙂 Then, I’ve realized something… It really goes well with my summer hat!!! I think I really love flower prints and colors!! (If you also have the same kind of taste, here is a little bit of information about the makeup bag. I bought it at COACH in Premium Outlets. I think it costed me just around $30, so it was really reasonable!!)

 

One of my suggestions to add a color easily in your style is to put a hair accessory with colors!! I quite like a bow for it.

 

I often tie my hair in a ponytail. Sometimes, people tell me that they like my hair bow and they ask me if I’ve bought it at a department store in Japan. I always feel flattered although they are probably just trying to be nice to me… But in most of the cases, I take it as a compliment, and I make more for those friends 🙂

 

I think putting a color bow is much better than putting a plain hair band. If you have a similar kind of color in your clothes with the hair bow, it will look more natural. Let’s see which hair bow looks more natural on the little cow??

Because of the red bow he wears around his neck, I think a pink bow looks better than the yellow one 🙂 So, it will be nice if you can use the similar kind of color in your fashion with the hair bow. It can be just a tiny print of the clothes, a belt, a scarf, a pair of shoes, a handbag or pretty much everything! Just think about the color coordinates 🙂

 

I also tried to mix more than one color!! This is cute on my chinchilla cap!! My friend likes it, so she sometimes uses it to make a ponytail and I feel super happy whenever I see that!!

 

Now, a different combination of colors. Hmmm… this reminds me of a baseball ball…? :p

 

I think I personally prefer putting a lace in the center! Sometimes I give those hair bows as one of the gifts to my friends.

Decorating his work space :)

Last weekend, my family and our friends went to the Lake Tahoe 🙂 It was my first time to go there and I had so much fun with nice people around me!!

After spending some days there, here I came back to the normal life. Yesterday, I was feeling so empty staying at home all by myself during the daytime that I decided to decorate my house to cheer me up 😀

 

We live in an apartment and we can’t really make any holes on the wall so that we can’t really hang things on the wall… So, our walls stay simple for now. I thought this would be a nice decoration around his work space 🙂 I attached those colorful letters with a double-faced tape. Doesn’t it look a little bit fun?

When he came back home, he noticed the change immediately and he liked it 😀 I’m happy ♡♡♡

I think there are some people who have the same kind of interior decoration problems with mine. So, I’ll think of a good way of decorating the house without making a hole on the wall or anything. I’ll keep posted how to decorate the house colorful 🙂 ♪♪
