I’ve been making something new 😀

I’ve came up with an idea of making rosette with a cute alphabet embroidery on a linen. This first one was for my friend’s baby shower gift.

I’ve made another one for my friend.

Then, her daughter requested me to make one with her favorite colors, so I’ve tried. They were something that I usually wouldn’t chose, but here it came.

Don’t you think it’s nice? I actually really like it!!

Then, here is another one for my other friend’s baby shower gift.

It’s a lot of work to make one… but I really like them all 🙂

I’ll probably try to make some more with other colors! Hope I’ll have a chance to share them here on my blog!!

Let me introduce my eco-friendly little people

I haven’t properly introduced my little people!! Please let me introduce them to you 🙂

They always sticks together on my couch. How cute…

Some of you might probably wonder how they were born… Now, I’d like to show the process and you will understand why I call them “eco-friendly”.

These are what I’ve used to make a little bunny. My old camisole and my husband’s well-worn T-shirts.

Here, I’ve already made her face 🙂 For the nose, I used my crochet skills 😀 The eyes were made of felt.
By the way, the wall decorations are done by my little friends, who were only 3 year’s old. I kind of like it as an art!

Here, I’ve got her body. Except for the very top part, I quickly saw with my sewing machine. After I put stuffing, I sewed the top part by hand.

I thought the bunny would be ashamed of not wearing anything, and also she looked too plain without any clothes, so I made something to wear for her. The neck strap of my camisole matches perfectly on her!!

Now, these are what I used to make “Oji-san” (we call a middle-aged man as “oji-san” in Japanese)- my old summer dress and my husband’s old T-shirt.

I’ve started from his face. First put everything on one side of the face-shaped fabric.

After sewing two sheets of face fabric inside-out, turn inside out and put the stuffing. Now the face is done.

He is done. I made him a bow tie with a pink yarn as an accent.

I came up with the idea of making them because I had lots of old clothes which I could use for a crafting. I’ve made good friends to hung around in my living room with me instead of my husband, who always stays in front of his PC… Now they are not only good friends of mine but also good friends for my little visitors!!

Awww… ouch.!! Oh well, baby-sitting is not an easy job!!

I think they do well with baby-sitting overall… ♡

Workshop – flower shaped something

I’ve held a workshop again on the same topic with the last time – a wall hanging garland. But this time, nobody made a garland… One of them made a flower coaster and the others made an appliqué. They came out really cute 🙂

What a peaceful time we had!! 🙂 (I always think that mom is a really tough job…!! But this photo makes me really happy ♡)

Everybody worked so hard and they made more than 5 peaces per each 🙂 GOOD JOB!!

This little one had been a very good boy!! Seems like my little people liked him a lot 😀 ♡

Workshop – wall decor :)

I hosted a workshop today and its theme was to make their own wall decor. I’m actually really really happy with what other attendees have made today!! I think I would prefer their works to my original ones. You will see what I mean… lol

Here, these are my original work of wall hanging letters.

Then after my brief explanation, they picked up their favorite colors of yarns and started making lots and lots of knots with the yarn. There were just three of us (plus a little gentleman) today, so I could help them a little more than usual.

Well, we worked quite a lot of hours, but this little man had really been a good boy for the whole time. He even tried to help her mom with crocheting 😀 GREAT JOB!!!

TADAAAAA!! One of my friends has made it today with her little angel’s name on it. It’s really cute!! I thought it would be nice to sew them on a bag or put them on the door.

She told me that her son just got a tent recently, and she could put them on his tent!! Well. sounds nice!

Then after she went back home, she sent me this picture. How adorable!!!!! The color combination is super ♡

Here, this is an impressive work done by the other friend. She really put a lot of effort in it and I think it worth it!! I would like to hung this on my bathroom door instead of my “bath” signs… :p It’s really cute and those colorful colors brightens up the room!!

Over all, it was really a good day with a lot of happy talking, good lunch, good works done with happy people!! Thank you for coming today ♡

Lovely flower cushion

I have something that I’ve wanted to upload here, but it took me time to do that since my parents were visiting me here in California from Japan. We went to lots of places together!! I just quickly want to share the most beautiful scenery we’ve seen together at Big Sur. I’d never seen a waterfall falling into the ocean anywhere before!! If you are planning a trip in the west coast, I think this is a kind of place you’d better visit!!

Now, finally, please let me introduce my new works here. TA-DA—-!!! They are beautiful cushions made with lots of flowers!! I’ve asked my little people to help me to introduce the works. I haven’t even introduced my little people, have I? Let me introduce them properly to you some other time!!

I’ve combined some colors of yarns which I had at home. One is with light-green, purple, navy and gray.

The other is with orange, pink, white and light-pink. These are more like my kind of colors, but I also liked the other one 🙂

I normally place them on the stools.

… but, I think my little people like to lay down on the cushion 😀 They look as if they are laying down in the field of flowers!!

I think it will be cute to make a cushion cover with those flowers although I don’t know if I’ll do that since it takes me quite lots of time to make lots of flowers …

Thanks to the pattern on a Japanese creator, ayuca-san, I’ve enjoyed making them 😀

Crochet Coaster Workshop with babies!!

I’ve had another workshop on making coasters and I’ve got many cuties today!!
They look really cute, but I guess the little babies’ world isn’t so easy either…!! Ouch, the smallest one is crying…!!

 

Mommies had so many tasks to do at the same time… learning crochet skills, taking care of their babies and enjoying talking!! What multi-talented ladies they are!!!

 

Creating things by yourself is really fun 🙂 Slowly but surely, you are making something just by making knots one by one.

 

Sometimes, there is the moment when nobody talks and everyone is just concentrating on their works…!! I love the chatting but I love the completely quiet moment as well!!!

 

Hemp is a difficult material to work on, so we needed to take a break 🙂

 

Then, finally we’ve made them !!!

 

Aren’t they beautiful?? As Audrey Hepburn once said “I believe that happy girls are the prettiest girls” ♡

 

Creating something by hand with your love can bring you a lot of happiness!!! If you have some spare time, why don’t you try to be happier with what you do? 😀 I hope tomorrow will be another happy day♡

My memorable first customer for bow earrings ♡

I’m super happy to announce that I’ve delivered a set of earrings to my first customer ♡

She saw me wearing the same earrings sometime ago, and asked me to make the same one for her!! She is really an active person and busy with her private life as well as with her business, so we couldn’t find time to meet over a cup of coffee almost for one month… and finally!! TADA!!! They are in her hands now ♡

 

We talked about so many things and it was really fun 🙂

Special accessories for yourself ♡

Lately, I’ve been in love with making accessories. I’ve found out how exciting to play with colorful beads and wires is!!
This was one of the main reasons why I was a little bit away from blogging though… 😦 Ouch!!

This is what I designed for myself… It was my first time to wear something that has my name on!! I am really happy to wear them 🙂

 

I also had my hair cut shorter recently ♡ How do you think?? 😀

 

My partner liked it and he wanted to have one for himself, so I’ve made one for him. He doesn’t wear earrings, so I’ve decided to make a charm. He uses it with keys!!

 

I’ve got some inquires if I sell them somewhere, so I’ve decided to sell them on my Etsy shop. Both earrings and a charm are available there ♡

 

If you like the earrings, the size is shown in the picture below- hoops measure 1.2 inches (3cm) in diameter, and the total hight 1.8 inches (4.5cm).

 

Both earrings and the charms are available in 5 colors 🙂 You can also chose words or names up to 4 letters!!

Crochet Cafe♡ Hair Bow – part 2- :)

On Friday, I held a crochet workshop for a different group of ladies 🙂

Our theme was the same with the last crochet cafe, “hair bows”. This time, it’s all started with one facebook message which I’ve got from a lady. She wrote to me that she wanted to make a hair bow for her 1-year-old daughter! How nice ♡ I liked the idea ♡

Everyone chose their favorite color of yarns, and we started working on it.

 

After working for a while, we took a break. It’s been very hot these days, but we had a hot tea 🙂 Hot drinks work well both physically and mentally. We chose “SOHO” by Harney and Sons this time. I really like the flavor ♡ The sweet flavor always makes me relax 🙂

 

I had prepared healthy treats the day before the workshop. Can you notice the bow shape on the cakes??

 

We enjoyed the relaxing break time ♡

 

After the tea break, we knew more about each other. I could see that everyone looked so relaxed and enjoyed working on crochet as well as chatting ♡

 

Three out of five ladies were moms. So, there were cute little ones!! How cute!! They looked enjoying exploring around the room! 😀

We came up with the idea of making a bow tie for baby boys, so I hope he will get his bow sometime soon 🙂 ♪♪

 

I’m now super happy that my friend had sent me a message on facebook!! Without that, I was probably doing something different that day and I might have never met her…!! We had so much fun together and I hope to know more about each other 🙂 ♡

 

I’ve learnt that when you think of something, it’s really important to take an action no matter how small it is. The small action makes the big difference in the end. Do you know that you will actually get bigger feeling of regret when you didn’t do “the thing” compared to the feeling you get after you did it. It’s easy not to take any actions and just to see how it goes, but if you are thinking about something, I think you should do it.

Crochet cafe♡ Hair Bow :)

Today, I held a crochet workshop at home 🙂

I called it “crochet cafe” because I wanted all the participants to feel relaxed with some cups of tea and sweets and have fun while working on crochet 🙂

Our theme for today was hair bows. The first task for everyone was to chose yarn. This is one of the fun parts 🙂

We chatted a lot but sometimes we were completely quiet… making lots of knots 🙂

 

After working for 2 hours, we had some sweets with a glass of tea 🙂 A carrot jelly with fresh mint leaves which I picked from my mint pot!!

 

After a break, ladies finished their works!!! TADA!!!

Another lady even made 3 bows in a day although it was her first time to crochet!! Great jobs 🙂

Brown's date by the sea

As some of you might have expected, my little Brown has finally got his girlfriend, Cony, a rabbit.

 

To celebrate the birth of this little couple, I decided to let them join in my family trip to Monterey, California. They look excited to see the big ocean for the first time in their life. I think they’ve got quite surprised to see how big the ocean is!!

 

Let me share how their date went and also how beautiful and exciting Monterey is!!

At the port, we saw many sea lions. Here are some…

 

Together with many of them in their back!! Say cheese 🙂

 

We saw many sea lions and seals there. What’s the difference between them? I’ve learned that if you found ears on them, they were sea lions. If they didn’t have ears, then they were seals 🙂

After exploring the port, we joined whale watching tours!! We got on a boat. They look quite excited about it!! Of course, all of us were excited!!

 

While waiting for the departure, they were posing for a picture … do you think they are imitating the famous scene of Titanic??

 

Wooooow!! The boat ran really fast!!

 

After running for 1 hour, the boat stopped… what’s there??

 

Here it comes!!! A whale!!! The whale appeared out of nowhere. We found some more whales and dolphins 😀 ♡

 

To be honest, I got seasick 30 min after the departure, so it was a nightmare for me… For the rest of 2.5 hours, I couldn’t enjoy it… but I got some fantastic pictures!! So I’m satisfied with this journey. I think the little couple had so much fun on the ocean!!!

 

Then, we visited another must-go place in Monterey. Can you find them in the picture?? 🙂 ♪♪

 

I was so excited because I didn’t have to get seasick to see the marine creatures!!! 😀

Sea otters. I think I saw some on the bay as well. But to see them just close to me… it was wonderful. They were so cute!!!

It seems they were quite tired after seeing so many new things to them!!! Sweet dreams 🙂 ♡♡♡

Add colors in your fashion ♡

I like summer because everyone wears more colors than in winter!! I love colorful fashions, but I also like a simple style, wearing beige, black, navy, gray and white. But still, I try to adopt at least just one bright color as an accent to my fashion 🙂

These flower colors are my favorite kinds 🙂 Just by seeing them, I feel like getting energy. Bright colors cheer me up!!

 

A while ago when I went shopping with my friend, I’ve bought a pretty makeup bag. It was “a love at a first sight” kind of thing… 🙂 Then, I’ve realized something… It really goes well with my summer hat!!! I think I really love flower prints and colors!! (If you also have the same kind of taste, here is a little bit of information about the makeup bag. I bought it at COACH in Premium Outlets. I think it costed me just around $30, so it was really reasonable!!)

 

One of my suggestions to add a color easily in your style is to put a hair accessory with colors!! I quite like a bow for it.

 

I often tie my hair in a ponytail. Sometimes, people tell me that they like my hair bow and they ask me if I’ve bought it at a department store in Japan. I always feel flattered although they are probably just trying to be nice to me… But in most of the cases, I take it as a compliment, and I make more for those friends 🙂

 

I think putting a color bow is much better than putting a plain hair band. If you have a similar kind of color in your clothes with the hair bow, it will look more natural. Let’s see which hair bow looks more natural on the little cow??

Because of the red bow he wears around his neck, I think a pink bow looks better than the yellow one 🙂 So, it will be nice if you can use the similar kind of color in your fashion with the hair bow. It can be just a tiny print of the clothes, a belt, a scarf, a pair of shoes, a handbag or pretty much everything! Just think about the color coordinates 🙂

 

I also tried to mix more than one color!! This is cute on my chinchilla cap!! My friend likes it, so she sometimes uses it to make a ponytail and I feel super happy whenever I see that!!

 

Now, a different combination of colors. Hmmm… this reminds me of a baseball ball…? :p

 

I think I personally prefer putting a lace in the center! Sometimes I give those hair bows as one of the gifts to my friends.

An adventure of BROWN :)

One day, I came up with an idea of changing something I had at home into something very cute!! And this is the before and after… I cast a spell upon a clothespin to turn into Brown, a bear character from LINE.

 

It turned out really cute!!! He enjoys sticking everywhere in my house.

 

I wish I really could use the magic like I said so that I would change all of my clothespins into lots of cute things!! But in reality, of course I can’t use magic… so I had to work little by little like this… 😦

 

I thought I would make him a girl friend at least, but it was taking lots of time… and now, he helps me to make his girl friend 🙂 How kind and how sweet of him 🙂 ♡

 

He is usually a good bear. He offers me a cup of coffee ♡

 

However… he sometime gets very greedy… he tried to hunt my first tomato of this season!! No way!! I wanted to have that one!!

 

Of course, he got punished afterwards…

 

He was forgiven.
Then, we went out for a short trip to the Lake Tahoe. There, right after we arrived at the house, he got his friends. Seems like he doesn’t get scared of anything.

 

He enjoyed playing at the beach.

What kind of adventures are waiting for him… ?  🙂 Enjoy summer ♡

A Cute Marine Style Fashion

Especially in summer, I like a marine style fashion. So, I had been thinking about the marine style sun hat for quite some time. I thought I would definitely go for a striped hat, but it took time for me to figure out how to make a nice seamless surface with more than one color. Then, I wanted to put an anchor logo somewhere on the hat, but it also took time for me to think about the pattern. After seeing those things together, I thought I would need some more colors, so I chose three colors to decorate the hat -white, navy and red!! Then the hat came out quite nice 😀 (Or is that only me who think so?)

My friend told me that those three colors reminded her of the American Flag. Oh, it’s also good to celebrate the upcoming July 4th then 😀

My friend’s daughter wear the sun hat really nicely!! She is really fashionable and her fashion really goes well with the sun hat 😀  ♡
I think I would love to wear the same kind of fashion with her 😀 I just love this style including the hat ♡

She is a really good model, and also she is a wonderful photographer! 😀

Oh, she loves flowers 😀

She also likes trains! She also waves her hand to a train 🙂 I will be happy if I see her from the train!!

Now the little photographer has to go back home after working a lot!! So, she has her pretty backpack on her back… ♡ How lovely!!

A turtle bread brings big smile :)

Recently, I’ve got to know a nice lady with a cute little boy at a cafe. I was working on my crochet project there, and the boy sitting behind me started talking to me, showing his brand-new toy. His face was filled with an extraordinary cute smile!! Soon after that, I and the mom started talking to each other and we became friends. What a nice day it was!! I think it’s much better to go out than staying at home even when you have to work on something 🙂

She told me that he loved melon breads. This was the reason why they were there on that day. The cafe had nice melon breads. I’ve never baked melon breads but after hearing her stories how much he loved them, I felt like making one for him!! This is how my journey with melon breads began… lol

 

The first time, they came out okay but they were just like “cookies on breads”. They didn’t have deepness in the taste. I also didn’t do so well with baking part.

 

The second time, I asked my aunt’s help. She loves cooking and baking and she pretty knows a lot about those things. She gave me her recipe via Email, so I tried to follow them… but out of curiosity, I couldn’t resist to add a real melon juice to add a flavor in them, and I believe this destroyed the balance… it looked better than the first time but the bread was harder and not perfect either.

 

The third time, I modified my aunt’s recipe just a little. I felt that they were working quite well this time, so that I decided to make an original one for the boy!! A turtle bread 🙂 They turned out perfect for me!! I also added chocolate chips for some of them and they were really good!!

 

I gave it to his mother and she told me that he loved it!! He played a lot with the turtle bread before eating it, and also enjoyed eating it.

What a cute smile he has!!! I’m now quite satisfied with my journey of melon breads!!  His big happy face rewards my effort 😀

Handmade items and cooking/baking are not so easy and time consuming but always fun because they allow us to be creative!!

The other day, I made a summer hat with cotton yarns. It came out pretty, and I put a pink lace tape to decorate the hat.

I wanted to give it to my friend’s daughter, so I wanted to decorate it how she would like it. My friend told me that her daughter loved yellow, so I decided to add some yellow color.

Then, I thought it would be nice to add more colors, and this is how the hat is now!! We can’t see the pink tape anymore… but I like it so much 😀

Now, a little cutie wears the hat. How cute!!! I’m so happy to see my hat worn by the others!! But it was a bit big for her… maybe she will be able to wear it for another 5 years or so… 😀

We went out to a park to play and she took my camera and turned out to be a great photographer!! It’s interesting to see how kids see the world!!

So, these amazing photos of the cutie are taken by her mom with her camera!! She has a great eye for making great photographs of her daughter 🙂 Moms are great!!

Welcome to our world :D

How small and how cute a newborn baby is …!!!

One of my best friends has delivered a baby!! Congratulations!!! I visited her soon after she gave birth to him, and it was almost my first time to see a newborn baby. So, I was so excited to see the small beautiful creature!!!

A few days ago, I visited them again. It’s already been a month since he came to the world. He looked a lot bigger than the last time and I gave him the Jiji beanie this time 😀 Maybe the cap is still a little bit big for him, but I’m sure he’ll wear it perfectly soon ♡♡

He was either sleeping or sucking at his mom’s breast when I visited him.

My friend, his mom, told me that she had been spending almost 8 hours a day just to feed him!! It takes her about 1 hour to feed him and to burp him, and he cries almost every 3 hours for the milk… oh… how tough the mom’s job is…!!!

I thought sharing the fact with my husband was really important. So, soon after coming back from her house, I told my husband what I had heard at her place. I hope he will share the work when we have babies sometime in the future… 😀

I couldn’t believe how soft his skin was, how adorable he was (even his feet was adorable!!) and how small he was!! Sleep well and be a good boy, my dear 😉 ♡♡♡

I can’t wait to go out often with the mommy and her little one 🙂
